Biography

Heli Tissari is an Associate Professor at Umeå University in Sweden, specializing in English linguistics. She earned her PhD from the University of Helsinki in 2003 with a dissertation titled 'Lovescapes: Changes Prototypical Senses Cognitive Metaphors 1500.' Her research interests are centered on cognitive corpus linguistics, emotions, English historical linguistics, and semantics. Tissari has been a part of various research groups, including the Academy Finland Centre of Excellence focusing on variation and contact in English. She has also collaborated on translating works related to Natural Semantic Metalanguage and has participated in projects examining the emotional resonance of video game music. Throughout her career, she has taught at several prominent universities across Finland and Sweden, contributing to the field by publishing several significant publications and presentations on language, cognition, and emotional semantics.
