Dr. Helle Anker

Biography

Helle Tegner Anker is a Professor of Law at the University of Copenhagen, specializing in environmental planning law, access to justice, public participation in environmental assessments, and urban development. She has a Ph.D. in environmental law from Aarhus University and has held various academic positions, including Associate Professor and Assistant Professor at the School of Law, Aarhus University. Her research interests encompass a wide range of topics, including nature protection, water resources management, agricultural law, genetically modified organisms (GMOs), and renewable energy policies. She actively teaches courses on Environmental Planning Law, EU Law, and EU Food Law at the University of Copenhagen. Anker has also served as Chairperson for the Planning Appeals Board since February 2021, illustrating her commitment to practical applications of her expertise in environmental law.
