Biography

Helle Sørensen is a Professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Copenhagen. She received her BSc in Mathematics-Economics in 1993, MSc in Statistics in 1997, and completed her PhD in Statistics in 2000, all from the University of Copenhagen. Her research interests include functional data analysis, statistical inference for data dependence and stochastic processes, with applications in biology and related sciences. Additionally, she has led the Data Science Lab within the Statistics domain and has been affiliated with various other departments across the university including Economics and Natural Sciences. Helle is actively involved in research collaborations and her work has significantly contributed to the fields of mathematical and applied statistics.
