Biography

J.W. (Helm) Jansen received his MSc degree (cum laude) and PhD degree from the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Eindhoven University of Technology, Netherlands, in 2003 and 2007, respectively. Since 2018, he has been active in the Electromechanics Power Electronics group at the university as both an assistant and associate professor, specializing in electromechanics for high-precision systems. He also serves as a system architect for the Precision Solutions program at Prodrive Technologies. His work involves the supervision of PhD and MSc students, focusing on the modeling (both semi-analytical and numerical) and design of advanced electromechanical devices, including linear planar motors, (integrated) magnetic bearings, multi-DOF actuators, and wireless energy transfer systems.
