Héloïse Cardinal undertook her pre-doctoral training at the University of Sherbrooke. She completed her training in nephrology at the University of Montreal, followed by a master's and a doctorate in epidemiology and biostatistics at McGill University. Her research interests include vascular injury biomarkers and their clinical utility in nephrology and transplantation. Cardinal has actively participated in the characterization of anti-LG3 antibodies and the study of their role in transplanted patients. She is currently focused on characterizing the clinical utility of anti-LG3 post-kidney transplantation and better understanding the permissive factors affecting the impact of anti-LG3 on blood vessels. Her research program is supported by various funding sources, including the Fonds de recherche du Québec – santé and the Canadian Kidney Foundation. Her ongoing projects involve exploring the implications of molecular heritage in renal inflammation and dysfunction as well as integrating biomarker characterization with artificial intelligence to enhance clinical decision-making in kidney transplantation.
