Biography

Hendry Susila was born in Bali, Indonesia, and received a Bachelor of Science from Universitas Gadjah Mada in Yogyakarta. He earned his Ph.D. at Korea University in Seoul, where he studied the molecular mechanisms underlying flowering time regulation. After a brief postdoctoral position in a laboratory at Korea University, he joined the Australian National University (ANU) as an Innovation Fellow at the ARC Training Centre for Future Crops Development. His research interests lie in the field of plant biology, focusing on the improvement of plant traits and the underlying mechanisms of plant development. He is particularly interested in utilizing tools from molecular biology and synthetic biology to understand and manipulate the genetic pathways responsible for important plant traits such as growth, yield, and stress tolerance. Hendry is also a registered supervisor for research students and plays an active role in supervising various research topics.
