Henk Corporaal is a Full Professor in the Electronic Systems group at the Department of Electrical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). His study and early research interests revolved around theoretical physics, particularly in particle physics and supergravity, and he specialized in computer architecture. Corporaal has been a principal investigator in various projects. Notably, he has worked on the MNEMOSENE project aimed at demonstrating a new computation-in-memory architecture which utilizes resistive devices along with a requisite programming flow interface. Additionally, he is involved in projects designing energy-autonomous systems for the Internet of Things and has contributed to the Near Memory Computing initiative, which seeks to minimize data access energy by bringing computing closer to main memory. His work on the BrainWave project aims to construct a wearable device for the continuous monitoring and analysis of EEG signals in non-hospital environments, specifically for epilepsy and Parkinson's patients. Corporaal has initiated and leads the Dutch NWO perspectief program on Efficient Deep Learning, which includes research institutes and 30 participating companies. With over 500 publications to his name, his research spans topics in computer architecture, neural network accelerators, compiler code generation, and concurrent simulation.
