Biography

Henriette E. Meyer zu Schwabedissen graduated in 2004 from the School of Medicine of the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt University of Greifswald, obtaining an M.D. She completed her residency in the Institute of Pharmacology at the University of Greifswald before joining the Group of Richard B. Kim in the Department of Clinical Pharmacology at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN, USA. She later transferred to the University of Western Ontario in London, Canada, before returning to Greifswald where she became a Senior Scientist at the C_DAT Center of Drug Absorption and Transport. She achieved her Habilitation in 2011 and was appointed Assistant Professor in the Biopharmacy Department at the University of Basel in March 2013. Promoted to Associate Professor in 2015 and to Full Professor in 2024, her scientific interests revolve around drug transporters and their interplay with nuclear receptors, focusing on their critical roles in pharmacology and physiology. She is actively involved in various committees, including the Research Committee at the University of Basel and the Scientific Advisory Board of the BfArM.
