Biography

Henriette Partzsch awarded her Doctorate from Technische Universität Berlin. She has worked at several universities including Basel, Geneva, and St Andrews before joining the School of Modern Languages & Cultures at the University of Glasgow in 2014. Her primary research focuses on Spanish literature and culture, particularly during the long nineteenth century, with a specific interest in women writers from Spain and comparative approaches in transcultural studies. Partzsch has participated in notable international projects, including 'Desde los márgenes', exploring cultural experience and subjectivity, as well as 'Travelling Texts', which examined the transnational reception of women's writing in Europe from 1790 to 1914. She has supervised various research projects, including a PhD on the transnational textile trade between Britain and the Spanish-speaking world. Additionally, Partzsch teaches multiple courses related to Spanish culture, literature, and society and serves on the editorial board for the 'Comparative Literature Section' of Modern Languages Open.
