Biography

Henry Duff graduated from medical school at McGill University in 1975 and completed his specialty training in Adult Cardiology at Toronto General Hospital. He further developed his research skills in the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disturbances at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Tennessee. Since returning to Calgary in 1982, he has been a staff member at the Foothills Hospital and has maintained an active practice that integrates basic science research focused on heart rhythm disorders. His work includes studies on the structure and function of the hERG potassium channel both in vitro and in vivo, and he is dedicated to developing new strategies for treating cardiac arrhythmias and preventing sudden cardiac death.
