Dr. Henry Jones

Biography

Henry Jones is a lecturer in Translation Studies at the University of Manchester and co-coordinator of the Genealogies Knowledge Research Network. He is a co-author of a forthcoming fourth edition coursebook on translation and co-editor of the Routledge Encyclopedia of Citizen Media published in 2021. His current research interests encompass corpus-based methodologies, audiovisual translation studies, medical humanities, media theory, and digital culture. He is the Principal Investigator on an Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC)-funded project titled 'Negotiating Distinctions: Conventional and Alternative Medicine in English-French-language Wikipedias' from 2021 to 2023. Jones has expertise in guiding PhD students in areas such as Translation Studies and Interpreting Studies. He holds a BA in French Studies from the University of Sheffield, an MA in Translation and Interpreting Studies from the University of Manchester, and a PhD in Translation and Intercultural Studies from the University of Manchester.
