Biography

Hera Kim-Berman is the Director of the Graduate Orthodontic Program at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine and completed her Master of Medical Science (MMSc) in Orthodontics from Harvard University. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and has maintained a private practice in New York for 15 years before becoming a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan. Previously, she held the position of Associate Professor and Graduate Orthodontic Clinic Director at West Virginia University School of Dentistry. From 2004 to 2014, she served as the Director of Orthodontics at Cohen Children's Medical Center of New York and Long Island Jewish Medical Center. Dr. Kim's teaching responsibilities encompass orthodontic education for pediatric graduate residents and postdoctoral craniofacial fellows. Her clinical research interests are focused on the treatment of cleft lip, palate, and craniofacial anomalies. She draws upon her extensive experience and the latest treatment modalities to provide care in the faculty practice setting.
