Hervé Moulin graduated from École Normale Supérieure Paris in 1971 and received his PhD in mathematics from Université de Paris in 1975. He began teaching at École Nationale de la Statistique et Administration Économique at Dauphine University in Paris and later moved to the USA in 1984, holding positions at Virginia Polytechnic Institute, Duke University, and Rice University. He joined the University of Glasgow in 2013 and is recognized as a Fellow of the Econometric Society since 1983, the Royal Society of Edinburgh since 2015, and the British Academy since 2018. Hervé is a member of the Microeconomics research cluster and has expertise in Macroeconomics, Game Theory, Social Choice, Welfare, Mechanism Design, and Fair Division. He has served as President of the Social Choice Welfare Society from 1996 to 1998 and the Game Theory Society from 2018 to 2020. He has also held editorial roles in various academic journals and is currently the Editor-in-Chief of Games and Economic Behavior.
