Biography

Hesheng Wang is an Associate Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at New York University. His research encompasses a broad scope within translational research, focusing on medical imaging and cancer treatment. Prior to joining NYU, Dr. Wang was dedicated to developing imaging biomarkers that assess tumor and normal tissue response to radiation, which aimed to support functional adaptive radiotherapy initiatives. Currently, his research centers on adaptive radiotherapy that utilizes anatomical and functional information provided by advanced MR imaging techniques. Additionally, he leads a multi-institutional NIH-RO1 research project at NYU aimed at developing deep learning-based methods for the detection and segmentation of brain metastases in MR images.
