Biography

Hilary Brown is an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto Scarborough in the Health Studies program and at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health and the Department of Psychiatry. She is also an Adjunct Scientist at the Women’s College Research Institute, Women’s College Hospital. Dr. Brown holds a PhD in Epidemiology & Biostatistics from Western University and an MSc in Community Health & Epidemiology from Queen’s University. Her research interests focus on the intersection of maternal and child health and chronic disease epidemiology, particularly examining the influence of maternal mental illness and disabilities on prenatal, fetal/neonatal, and postnatal health. She employs both quantitative and qualitative methods to explore and disentangle the biological and social determinants affecting health outcomes.
