Biography

Hina Khan is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and a Clinician Educator at Brown University. She serves as a Thoracic Oncologist at the Brown University Health Cancer Institute in Providence, Rhode Island, where she directs the Multidisciplinary Lung Nodule Management Program and is the Site Director for the Thoracic Oncology Multidisciplinary Clinic at the Miriam Hospital. She has been involved as a site investigator in significant initiatives such as CCC-19, which studies outcomes of COVID-19 in lung cancer patients, and TERAVOLT, an international collaboration addressing the impact of COVID-19 on thoracic cancers. Dr. Khan has a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and is dedicated to community outreach and education, particularly in equitable lung cancer screening access. She received the 2022 Robert Winn Career Development Award to research lung cancer screening in underserved populations in Rhode Island. Additionally, she serves on the SWOG Cancer Research Network's DEI Leadership Council, focusing on addressing inequities in clinical trials. Dr. Khan has also studied the burden of Radon exposure and its genomic implications for lung cancer in the Rhode Island community.
