Biography

Hina Tabassum received her Ph.D. degree from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) and is currently an Associate Professor at the Lassonde School of Engineering, York University, Canada. She joined as an Assistant Professor in 2018 and was appointed York Research Chair for 5G/6G-enabled mobility sensing applications in 2023. Prior to this, she worked as a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Manitoba, Canada. Prof. Tabassum has published over 100 refereed papers in well-reputed IEEE journals, magazines, and conferences. She has received the Lassonde Innovation Early-Career Researcher Award in 2023 and was recognized as a N2Women: Rising Stars in Computer Networking and Communications in 2022. She has been listed in Stanford's list of the World’s Top Two-Percent Researchers for the years 2021 to 2024. Additionally, she has been recognized as an Exemplary Editor for various prestigious IEEE publications and has served as an Associate Editor for several IEEE journals. Her research interests include 5G/B5G wireless communications, massive MIMO, deep learning, and ultra-reliable, low-latency communication.
