Dr. Hj Kwon

Biography

HJ Kwon is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering at the University of Waterloo. His research interests span artificial intelligence, particularly in machine learning algorithms applied to manufacturing and biomedical fields. He focuses on advancing technologies for ultrasound non-destructive testing (NDT) and its applications in therapeutics and diagnostics, especially utilizing high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU). Kwon actively collaborates with various Korean municipal governments on large-scale AI projects aimed at enhancing manufacturing processes. He has contributed significantly to scholarly research with publications in various reputable journals, focusing on topics including but not limited to digital twin manufacturing, therapeutic ultrasound, and non-destructive testing techniques.
