Biography

Ho-Yin Mak is a Professor of Management Science at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, and an Official Fellow of Reuben College. He has previously held faculty positions at Georgetown University from 2022 to 2025 and at Hong Kong University of Science & Technology from 2009 to 2015. He is a Turing Fellow at the Alan Turing Institute. Ho-Yin obtained his PhD in Operations Research from the University of California at Berkeley. His research interests include operations research and data science within the framework of operations management. On the methodological side, his work focuses on developing prescriptive analytics methods that transform data into business decisions. Regarding applications, his research seeks to generate managerial insights and analytics solutions to address complex issues in contexts such as supply chain management, digital retail operations, and smart cities. Additionally, Ho-Yin teaches business analytics in both the MBA and Executive MBA programs.
