Biography

Holly Baker is an Adjunct Professor at the Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health and Human Longevity Science at the University of California, San Diego. Her research primarily focuses on understanding how to promote agency among individuals and communities in low- and middle-income countries. As a Co-Principal Investigator for a project funded by USAID, she is involved in an international, multi-institutional research effort running from March 2022 to March 2027. Additionally, Baker is the Principal Investigator for a project on adolescent fertility social networks in rural Honduras, funded by NIH/NICHD from April 2016 to March 2021. Her recent work also includes a project supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation aimed at improving family planning uptake among married adolescent girls and young women in rural Niger through social network-based interventions.
