Biography

Holly J. Benjamin, MD is a Professor of Orthopedic Surgery and Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Chicago, specializing in non-surgical musculoskeletal injuries and sports medicine. She is regionally and nationally recognized for her expertise in treating various types of athletic injuries, particularly those related to concussions, disordered eating, and overuse sports injuries. She currently serves as the Chair of the Committee on Sports Medicine & Fitness for the Illinois Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics and is a Fellow of both the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine. Her leadership roles span multiple boards and governing societies related to sports medicine. Dr. Benjamin has held significant positions, including the inaugural Director of the Primary Care Sports Medicine Program at UChicago Medicine's Student Wellness Center and serving as Head Medical Team Physician for the WNBA Chicago Sky. She is also the medical officer for the Bank of America Chicago Marathon and has contributed to various aspects of sports medicine through presentations at local, regional, national, and international levels.
