Dr. Holly Bridge

Biography

Holly Bridge is a Professor in the Medical Sciences Division at the University of Oxford, specializing in Neuroscience. She conducts research on the visual system's health and disease, utilizing non-invasive human brain imaging to understand the organization of the visual system in individuals with normal and abnormal vision. Her main research focuses on populations of patients who are blind due to anophthalmia or who have suffered damage to the visual cortex due to stroke or brain tumors. By employing magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), she investigates functional and structural changes in the visual areas of the brain and the connectivity among them. Her long-term goal is to leverage this understanding to enable interventions that maximize remaining vision in patients and reduce the potential impact on their daily living. In addition to her research, she serves as a stipendiary lecturer at New College, Oxford, where she teaches undergraduate students in Neuroscience, Medicine, Biomedical Sciences, and Psychology.
