Biography

Holly Gaede is an Instructional Professor and Faculty Advisor at the Department of Chemistry, Texas A&M University. She serves as the Assistant Head of Undergraduate Studies and is dedicated to assisting chemistry majors with course selection, degree planning, and career guidance. Holly provides information on campus resources such as Student Counseling Services, Academic Success Center, Office of Professional School Advising, and Study Abroad. She oversees the departmental Undergraduate Curriculum Committee and the Undergraduate Awards Committee. Holly actively engages with prospective students to discuss program details and career options for chemistry majors. She is also involved in orientation programs for new students and their families. Throughout her tenure at Texas A&M University, she has taught a variety of courses, including Horizons Chemistry (CHEM100), Molecular Science Citizens (CHEM106), and Physical Chemistry lecture and laboratories (CHEM325, CHEM326, CHEM328), along with a communication-intensive senior seminar (CHEM481). Additionally, she directs an NSF-funded Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) summer program that hosts visiting students for a 10-week research experience, where she mentors students, organizes programming, and leads a culminating symposium.
