Biography

Holly Hendry is a lecturer in Fine Art Sculpture at the Slade School of Fine Art, University College London. She earned her BA in Fine Art from the Slade School in 2013 and an MA in Sculpture from the Royal College of Art in London in 2016. Her significant public works are included in prominent collections such as the Arts Council and the British Council. Notable exhibitions include solo shows at the Stephen Friedman Gallery in London and the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, where she explores themes of decay, bodily collisions, and the relationship between mechanical structures and human emotions. Hendry's sculptures investigate physical forms of emptiness and edges, using diverse materials to explore architecture and perceived spaces. Recent commissions include works displayed at Hayward Gallery in London, the CoLAB in Temple, and the STEAMhouse in Birmingham. She actively collaborates with other academics and artists to innovate in her practice, aiming to redefine how materials and forms interact within both sculptural and architectural contexts.
