Biography

Professor Low earned his PhD, MSc, and BSc in Macromolecular Science from Case Western Reserve University, USA. His career experiences include two years at Motorola Semiconductor Sector and thirteen years at the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE), under the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR). He joined the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) in 2013 and served as the director of the Digital Manufacturing Design (DManD) research centre from 2018 to 2022. Currently, he is the Head of the Pillar of Engineering Product Development at SUTD and serves as the Co-Advisor for the Dyson-SUTD Innovation Studio and Deputy Director of the Centre for Healthcare Education, Entrepreneurship, and Research (CHEERS). His research focuses on multi-material and multi-textural design fabrication, polymer nanofabrication, functional surfaces, and integration of micro- and nano-surfaces for sustainability and healthcare applications. He has co-authored over 150 peer-reviewed publications and is a co-inventor on 30 granted patents.
