Professor Low earned a PhD, MSc, and BSc in Macromolecular Science from Case Western Reserve University, USA. His career experiences include 2 years at Motorola Semiconductor Sector and 13 years at the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE), Agency of Science Technology Research. He joined SUTD in 2013, serving as the director of the Digital Manufacturing Design (DManD) research center from 2018 to 2022. Professor Low's research focuses on multi-material and multi-textural design and fabrication, polymer nanofabrication, functional surfaces, and the integration of micro- and nano-surfaces for sustainable healthcare applications. In his recent research, he has worked on digital knitting, electrical, and mechanical functional textiles. He has co-authored over 150 peer-reviewed publications and is a co-inventor on 30 granted patents. Professor Low co-founded Enlitho Private Limited in 2016 and currently advises Carbon1010 Private Limited, both ventures reflecting his commitment to applying technology in real-world solutions.
