Biography

Honghao Fu is an Assistant Professor at the Concordia Institute of Information Systems Engineering at Concordia University. He joined Concordia in August 2024 after serving as a Postdoctoral Associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the Computer Science Artificial Intelligence Lab for three years. He received his Ph.D. from the Department of Computer Science at the University of Maryland, College Park in 2021, where he was advised by Professor Carl Miller. Prior to his doctoral studies, he completed his Master's and Bachelor's degrees at the University of Waterloo in 2016 and 2014, respectively, under the guidance of Professors Andrew Childs and Debbie Leung. Honghao's research focuses on understanding quantum properties and quantum advantage, particularly in areas such as entanglement nonlocality and the application of quantum properties. He has developed data verification methods for quantum random number generation experiments, entanglement testing methods for untrusted quantum devices, and noise mitigation methods for noisy quantum devices. His research interests include Quantum Advantage, Verification of Quantum Devices, Secure Quantum Computing, and Quantum Information Science.
