Hossein Hashemi received B.S. and M.S. degrees in electronics engineering from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran in 1997 and 1999, respectively, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), Pasadena, CA in 2001 and 2003, respectively. In 2003, he joined the Ming Hsieh Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Southern California (USC), Los Angeles, where he is currently a Professor and Ming Hsieh Faculty Fellow, as well as Co-Director of the Ming Hsieh Institute. His research interests include electrical and optical integrated circuits and systems. Dr. Hashemi serves as an Associate Editor for the IEEE Open Journal of Solid-State Circuits and has held numerous roles on Technical Program Committees for major IEEE conferences. He is a recipient of the DARPA Young Faculty Award and the NSF CAREER Award, among others, showcasing his contributions to the field. Additionally, he co-founded Abtum Inc., a USC start-up company focused on commercializing radiofrequency frontend components, successfully acquired in 2018.
