Generate a tailored SOP for Dr. Hossein Hejazi. Improve your application with a focused, well-structured draft.
Hossein Hejazi received his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering and M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Tehran, followed by a Ph.D. in Chemical and Petroleum Engineering from the University of Calgary in 2011. He joined the faculty of the Schulich School of Engineering at the University of Calgary in 2013 and has been involved in industrial development of oil recovery techniques for naturally fractured heavy oil reservoirs. Hejazi leads the 'Interfacial Flows in Porous Media' laboratory, focusing his research on interfacial flows, liquid-solid interactions, soft matter, and porous media science, particularly in applications related to health, energy, and environmental systems. His work employs a variety of methodologies, including experiments, theory, and simulations addressing hydrodynamic instabilities, wetting, evaporation dynamics, reactive flow in porous media, microfluidics in high-pressure and high-temperature visual micromodels, multiphase flow in reservoir rocks, enhanced oil production, and design of novel interfacial materials using 3D printing.
