Biography

Hossein Naghavi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Washington. He earned his Ph.D. in 2023 from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, specializing in terahertz integrated circuits. He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology and the University of Tehran, Iran, respectively. From 2016 to 2018, he worked as a research scholar at the Radiation Lab at the University of Michigan, where he played a key role in developing a fully integrated terahertz inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) imaging system. Prior to that, between 2012 and 2016, he was involved with the Antenna Type Approval Laboratory at the University of Tehran, implementing a variety of antenna radio frequency measurement setups according to IEEE, FCC, and ETSI standards. His research is primarily focused on millimeter-wave and terahertz integrated circuit design, with applications spanning imaging, spectroscopy, metrology, and communications.
