Biography

Howard Bamsey is the Chair of the Global Water Partnership and an Honorary Professor at the School of Regulation and Global Governance at the Australian National University. He has served on the Board of the Climate Policy Initiative at Climate Works Australia. His prior roles include Executive Director of the Green Climate Fund and Director General of the Global Green Growth Institute. Bamsey has extensive experience as a Senior Adviser in Sustainable Development with the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and served as a Special Adviser on Green Growth to AusAID. He has also held significant positions as Australia’s Special Envoy for Climate Change and Deputy Secretary in the Australian Public Service, as well as CEO of the Australian Greenhouse Office. With a strong educational background from the University of Queensland and Harvard Business School, his research interests encompass Climate Change, Climate Change Policy, Energy Efficiency, International Negotiations, Sustainable Development Policy, and Public Policy.
