Biography

Howard Nemiroff is the Dean of the Sprott School of Business at Carleton University. He previously served as Interim Dean since September 2023. Under his leadership, the Faculty successfully completed the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) re-accreditation process and supported the development of a new Bachelor of Accounting degree, set to launch in Fall 2025. He has expanded program offerings at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Prior to this role, he served as Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs and as Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies for 10 years, leading initiatives for continuous improvement in the Sprott undergraduate programs. Nemiroff has also acted as the chair of the Senate Committee on Curriculum, Admission, and Studies Policy (SCCASP). He is the Academic Director of the Sprott Student Investment Fund and has taught a diverse array of courses in investments, portfolio management, and derivatives at various universities, including Saint Mary’s University, Brock University, and Long Island University. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Western University, a Master of Arts in Economics from Concordia University, and a Ph.D. in Finance from Concordia University.
