Hua Li received his PhD in Applied Minerals Materials from the Ian Wark Research Institute at the University of South Australia. After graduation, he worked as a research associate lecturer at the University of Newcastle. He joined the School of Molecular Sciences at the University of Western Australia as a research fellow in May 2017 and became the scanning probe microscopy platform leader at the Centre for Microscopy, Characterisation, and Analysis (CMCA) in 2019, where he provides support for SPM facilities. Hua's research interests focus on engineering liquid−solid and liquid-gas interfaces, aiming to apply fundamental findings about these interfaces to industrial applications, which include high-performance electrolytes, lubricants, and adsorbents for flue gas desulfurization and denitrification. He utilizes extensive state-of-the-art facilities at CMCA, including video-rate atomic force microscopy and external radiation scattering facilities. Hua collaborates with academic and industry partners both in Australia and internationally.
