Biography

Huajing Yang is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Social Anthropology and Cultural Studies at the University of Zurich since 2019. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in media communication in China and has seven years of experience in the mass media field. Following her undergraduate studies, she pursued a Master’s degree in religious studies at Mahidol University in Thailand. Yang has served as the head of training affairs and public relations at the Center for Chinese Studies, which has since been renamed the Center for China Globalizing Asian Studies at Mahidol University. Her academic focus includes post-socialist transformations and social changes in the context of development studies, youth studies, and immigration studies, particularly in Uzbekistan and Central Asia.
