Biography

Huanqian Loh is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Duke University, where she is also a member of the Duke Quantum Center. Her research focuses on quantum information science, quantum simulation, and quantum sensing, with recent work on defect-free neutral atom arrays using reconfigurable optical tweezers. She leads a team that builds these atom arrays and studies far-from-equilibrium quantum dynamics and Hilbert space fragmentation to engineer robust quantum systems. Her contributions to the field have been recognized with the L'Oreal-UNESCO Women in Science International Rising Talent award and a position on the World Economic Forum Global Future Council on Quantum Computing. In July 2024, she transitioned from the National University of Singapore to join Duke University.
