Biography

Huanting Wang is a Sir John Monash Distinguished Professor at Monash University, serving as Pro Vice-Chancellor and President (Suzhou). He has received his qualifications in material science engineering from East China University of Science and Technology and the University of Science and Technology of China. Wang has worked for three years as a process engineer at Hefei Glass General Factory and completed his postdoctoral research fellowship in Chemical Engineering from California Institute of Technology and University of California, Riverside. He has been awarded several prestigious fellowships including the ARC QEII Fellowship in 2004, the ARC Future Fellowship in 2010, and the ARC Australian Laureate Fellowship in 2020. Professor Wang is a recognised Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher, with a research focus on nanomaterials, composite membranes, gas separation, and water desalination. He has co-authored 470 papers and holds 11 patents, which have been licensed to companies in Australia and China. He has held several academic leadership roles, including Associate Dean of International in both the Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Information Technology, along with being a founding director of the Monash Centre for Membrane Innovation.
