Hub Zwart is a full Professor and Dean of the Erasmus School of Philosophy at Erasmus University Rotterdam. He studied philosophy and psychology at Radboud University Nijmegen, graduating cum laude in both disciplines. Zwart worked as a research associate at the Centre for Bioethics in Maastricht from 1988 to 1992 and completed his Ph.D. in 1993, also cum laude. He has been an invited speaker at more than 150 international lectures, served as a visiting scholar at the Hastings Centre in New York, and has held visiting professor positions at institutions in Canada, Japan, South Korea, and Belgium. He has supervised 23 Ph.D. research projects that have resulted in successful theses. Zwart's research focuses on philosophical and ethical issues arising from the life sciences, particularly in genomics, post-genomics, synthetic biology, nanomedicine, and brain research. He is also interested in research integrity and academic authorship, with a special focus on the use of imaginative genres in research and education.
