Biography

Hubert X. Gilroy has practiced law in Carlisle, PA for 35 years and is a shareholder at Martson Law Offices. His diverse legal practice includes business law, real estate, land use, municipal law, estate planning, family law, and he has significant litigation experience, handling multimillion-dollar personal injury cases, complex land use controversies, constitutional and statutory interpretation disputes, and criminal matters such as DUI and capital homicide trials. Mr. Gilroy is a certified mediator for the Federal Middle District Court and serves as a Custody Conciliator for Cumberland County, frequently retained as a mediator by counsel across central Pennsylvania. Additionally, he has coached the Penn State Dickinson Law National Trial Moot Court Team since 2000, leading teams to claim Regional Championships and helping students excel in regional competitions. He has been elected as an alumni member of the Board of Governors for Dickinson School of Law and is an appointed member of the Dickinson Law Association. Mr. Gilroy also serves on the Board as President of the Carlisle Family YMCA and is a member of the Cumberland County DUI Advisory Board. His contributions to the community were recognized with the Norman Cohn Hope Award from the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and the Stuart Award from the Cumberland County Bar Association, presented for outstanding dedication and devotion to the community. In 2006, he received the Molly Pitcher Award for recognition as Citizen of the Year in the Carlisle area from the Carlisle Exchange Club. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association and is admitted to practice before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, the United States Supreme Court, the United States Tax Court, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
