Dr. Hugh Collins

Biography

Hugh Collins is a prominent legal scholar and the Cassel Professor of Commercial Law at the London School of Economics, where he has held various academic positions including Professor of English Law. His extensive research focuses primarily on contract law, employment law, and human rights law, alongside a notable interest in legal theory. Collins has published multiple influential books and articles that critically examine the intersection of legal principles and social justice, particularly in relation to labour rights and discrimination law. He served on the editorial committee of the Modern Law Review from 1991 to 2014 and has been a fellow of the British Academy since 2014.
