Biography

Hui Feng, MD, PhD, is an Associate Professor at Boston University's Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine in the Department of Pharmacology, Physiology, and Biophysics. He holds a medical degree from Beijing Medical University and a PhD from the University of Georgia. Dr. Feng's research focuses on identifying novel genes and pathways essential for MYC-related tumor transformation and progression, particularly in T-Lymphoblastic Lymphoma/Leukemia, Neuroblastoma, and Breast Cancer. His work integrates genetic analysis of human cancer cells with the imaging capabilities of the zebrafish model system. The current research within Dr. Feng’s lab includes determining the molecular mechanisms underlying tumor cell intravasation and identifying novel mutated genes that delay the initiation and progression of MYC-related cancers. Long-term, he aims to discover novel molecular therapies that target critical components of MYC-driven oncogenic pathways to provide alternative treatments that are less toxic to patients. Dr. Feng serves as an educator and mentor, with responsibilities as the primary mentor for graduate students within the Graduate Medical Sciences program.
