Biography

Dr. Huiting Chen is a board-certified vascular surgeon at Michigan State University. He completed his undergraduate degree in kinesiology at Rice University, and earned his medical doctorate from Baylor College of Medicine. He finished his residency in integrated vascular surgery at the University of Michigan Health System, during which he received the Greenfield Resident Research Award in 2013. Dr. Chen has also participated in the Ethicon Endo-Surgery Surgical Educational Research Fellowship through the Association of Surgical Education's SERF Program in 2014. Before joining MSU, he served as a vascular surgeon at Sentara Vascular Specialists in Norfolk, Virginia, and was the director of vascular imaging at Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital in Jackson, Michigan. Currently, as an assistant professor of surgery in MSU's College of Human Medicine, he specializes in treating peripheral arterial disease, venous disease including Deep Venous Thrombosis and varicose veins, carotid disease and stroke prevention, aortic aneurysms, and dialysis access creation and salvage. His research interests focus on surgical education and curriculum development.
