Biography

Hulya Arguz is an Associate Professor and Senior Research Fellow in the Mathematical Institute at the University of Oxford. She received her PhD from the University of Hamburg, Germany. Her research focuses on algebraic geometry with a particular emphasis on enumerative geometry and its connections to mirror symmetry. Her research interests include Gromov–Witten theory, logarithmic geometry, moduli spaces, tropical geometry, real enumerative algebraic geometry, cluster varieties, and Donaldson–Thomas theory of quiver representations. In addition to her research, she is involved in teaching and mentoring students, contributing to various mathematical research groups, and leading initiatives that promote advanced study in pure mathematics. Throughout her career, Arguz has been awarded several prestigious grants and fellowships, showcasing her commitment to advancing research in mathematics and fostering academic growth in the field.
