Biography

Dr. Hung Sy Ho is a Professor of Surgery at UC Davis Health with clinical research interests that include laparoscopic pancreatic surgery, colon pancreatic cancer, chronic pancreatitis, reflux esophagitis, gall bladder disease, hernias, and colorectal disorders. He completed his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from the University of California, Davis in 1983 and earned his M.D. from the UC Davis School of Medicine in 1987. Dr. Ho underwent a Surgical Internship at UC Davis Medical Center from 1987 to 1990 and completed his Surgical Residency at the same institution from 1988 to 1990. He served as a Surgical Chief Resident from 1992 to 1994. His dedication to surgery is reflected in various leadership roles and his participation in significant academic positions. Among his accolades are the Earl F. Wolfman, Jr. MD Lois J. Wolfman, Endowed Professorship in Surgery at the UC Davis School of Medicine in 2018, and multiple awards including the Gunther Schlag Memorial Research Award in 1999 and the Young Investigator Award by the International Association of Pancreatology in 1998.
