Biography

Huseyin Gungor is a Lecturer in World Philosophy at the University of Glasgow and has previously worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Philosophy at Princeton University as part of the PRÉCIS project. He obtained his Ph.D. in Philosophy from Johns Hopkins University, and holds an M.A. in Philosophy and a B.A. in Translation and Interpreting Studies from Boğaziçi University in Istanbul, Turkey. Originally from Havza, Samsun, in northern Turkey, Gungor has a particular interest in the history of philosophy during the 8th to 16th centuries within the Islamic world, alongside contemporary philosophical issues related to language, epistemology, and metaphysics. His work aims to develop ideas from the great Islamic era with contemporary philosophical rigor. Gungor's research interests include Philosophy of the Islamic World, Philosophy of Language, Epistemology, Metaphysics, and Philosophy of Logic.
