Dr. Hussein Assi

Biography

Hussein Assi is an Assistant Professor at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine, specializing in Hematology and Medical Oncology. He graduated from the American University of Beirut with an MD and completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY. He further trained in Hematology/Oncology at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, where he earned a Master's degree in Clinical Translational Sciences. His research focuses on gastrointestinal malignancies, particularly neuroendocrine tumors (NETs). Assi aims to establish himself as an independent clinical investigator, concentrating on the development of novel therapeutics for NETs. He is committed to the mission of Boston Medical Center, which emphasizes the importance of providing exceptional care with empathy for all patients, irrespective of their race, ethnicity, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic status. Assi recognizes implicit biases and strives to improve interactions within the healthcare setting, enhancing the experiences of faculty, staff, and patients.
