Biography

Huub Dijstelbloem is a Professor of Philosophy of Science, Technology, and Politics at the University of Amsterdam and the Scientific Director of the Institute for Advanced Study. He co-founded the Platform Ethics, Politics, and Technology and is an initiator of the Science Transition movement. His work focuses on building bridges between science, research, and policy-making with an emphasis on methodological and conceptual innovation. He is a member of various advisory committees of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW) concerning prevention of inappropriate behavior in academia and was involved in the Netherlands Code of Conduct for Research Integrity (2015-2016). He has served twice as ad interim Chair of the Department of Philosophy. His publications include work in renowned journals such as Nature, Security Dialogue, and Geopolitics. His recent book, "Borders Infrastructure: Technopolitics of Border Control," was published by MIT Press in 2021.
