Biography

Dr. Hwamee Oh is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Psychiatry and Human Behavior, and Cognitive, Linguistic, and Psychological Sciences at Brown University. He holds a PhD in Biopsychology with a concentration in Human Cognitive Neuroscience from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Dr. Oh has a significant background in researching cognitive and neural changes associated with normal aging and Alzheimer’s disease pathology. His studies utilize advanced neuroimaging techniques such as amyloid PET, structural MRI, and functional MRI to explore the cognitive systems of human memory, especially in preclinical older adults. Prior to joining Brown, Dr. Oh held positions at Columbia University and SUNY-Stony Brook, where he focused on cognitive neuroscience and the impacts of aging on cognitive function. His current research aims to develop early behavioral and neural biomarkers for identifying individuals at higher risk for Alzheimer’s disease. Dr. Oh is a Principal Investigator in several NIH-funded projects and a member of various professional organizations, including the Alzheimer's Association and the Society for Neuroscience.
