Dr. Hyongsok Soh

Biography

Hyongsok Tom Soh is a Professor in the Departments of Radiology, Electrical Engineering, Bioengineering, and Chemical Engineering at Stanford University. He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science from Cornell University, which he earned with distinction in 1992, and completed his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at Stanford University in 1999. Prior to joining Stanford, Dr. Soh served as a technical manager for the MEMS Device Research Group at Bell Laboratories, Agere Systems. He has been a faculty member at the University of California, Santa Barbara, before relocating to Stanford in 2015. His research focuses on analytical biotechnology, emphasizing high-throughput screening, directed evolution, and integrated biosensors.
