Biography

Iaira Boissevain has been teaching 'law' in the Veterinary Medicine program since 2005. Students encounter her in the bachelor's phase during all 'LVP' courses. In the master's phase, Iaira offers an elective course on Animals and Law and is also involved in various return days within the clinical rotations, allowing students to present legal questions they face in practice. Together with Yteke Elte, she provides specific education in veterinary disciplinary law. Occasionally, Iaira collaborates on writing various productions and reports, such as the welfare report for special pets by C. Vinke and van Eijk. In addition to teaching, Iaira is a lawyer at SKE Advocaten in Leiden, where she has a specialized practice in 'animals and law', focusing on veterinary and medical (disciplinary) law.
