Percussionist Ian Antonio has extensive experience performing across four continents with a wide variety of chamber ensembles, orchestras, experimental rock bands, and avant-garde theatre companies as a soloist, conductor, and educator. He is the director of the Wet Ink Ensemble, a collective of composers and performers known for their innovative approaches to mix-instrumentation collaborations. Antonio's unique sound and teaching methods have developed over 20 years, leading to a distinguished performance practice characterized by expressivity and commitment. He has performed at renowned venues domestically and internationally, and Wet Ink's performances have been noted for their striking stylistic assurance and technical perfection. Ian is also a member of the percussion ensemble Talujon, which focuses on producing large-scale, often-neglected percussive works. He has been a founding member of the piano-percussion quartet Yarn/Wire and has collaborated with numerous esteemed orchestras and conductors. Ian holds a DMA and MM from Stony Brook University and a BM from the Manhattan School of Music.
